4 Steps to Reprogram your Brain for Success

Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. It takes long hours, a lot of hustle, and endless determination to make your dream work. At least that’s what the “hustle culture” in our society would like you to believe. Hustle culture wants entrepreneurs to think that earning a six-figure income is almost impossible and the journey long and gruesome. This mindset leads to burnout and not to long term success.

The truth is, it’s not your lack of hard work or skills that are keeping you from the success you so desperately crave. You can have the best business strategy in the world but it won’t work if your beliefs and mindset are not right. Your beliefs direct your actions. Instead of letting bad beliefs discourage you and make you give up on your dream, reprogram your brain for beliefs that support the kind of life you want.

How to Reprogram Your Brain

1) Take Inventory

Spend a few days and assess- in a non judgemental way- where you are right now in terms of your self-talk. Are you kind to yourself or do you tend to be more harsh? Write down some of the most common phrases, thoughts, and emotions you notice during your internal inventory. Identifying and understanding what blocks you have will help you overcome them.


2) Visualize Each Belief

Once you have identified a belief that is blocking your success, visualize the moment when you picked that belief up. From here, you will rewrite that story so that it gives you exactly what you needed in that moment.


You know better than anyone else what you need. Don’t rely on other people to give you what you need. You can give confirmation, validation, and anything else you need to yourself!


3) Visualize The Life You Want for Yourself

What would your life look like if it were aligned with your values, work, and purpose? Be as specific and detailed as you can when creating this picture in your head.

4) Affirmations

Speaking, reading, and listening to positive affirmations every day will help you reprogram the parts of your brain that have you blocked. Meditations, affirmations, and physically writing things out help you identify and debunk those subconscious thoughts that are holding you back. Remember, you already know what you need and you don’t have to wait for other people to give it to you.

Support Systems Matter

The people you surround yourself with impacts you on every single level of your life, ESPECIALLY your mindset. When you start reprogramming your brain and growing, you will find that it will impact and change your relationships. Make it your goal to find people who get your need for a positive mindset and will help you on your journey.


It’s time to switch gears from the hustle culture mindset and reprogram your brain to think in ways to help you succeed. This is not a one time process and will take time and consistency. Be patient. Trying and failing are part of the beauty in the journey.
