Learn How to Beat Instagram’s Algorithm by Doing These 6 Things
First, let’s go over what influences Instagram’s algorithm for posts that published to the IG feed:
1) Interest
2) Relationship
3) Timeliness
4) Frequency
5) Following
6) Usage
How to beat the algorithm
Increase Your Engagement: In order to beat the Instagram algorithm, you’re going to have to get engaged!
But we’re not talking about with a sparkly diamond, we’re talking about with your followers.
The algorithm shows users what content they are likely to engage with. Post content that you’ve seen your followers engage with in the past or even do some research on your followers and find out who else they follow and what kind of posts they engage with most.
You can also use the Polls feature on Instagram Stories to ask them yourself what kind of content they prefer. The more likes, comments, shares and views on your posts, the more likely they will show up on all of your followers’ feeds and beat the algorithm.
Post Daily: You are going to have to become a consistent poster in order to beat the algorithm. That means posting every single day. Consistency will help you build a following and your followers will get used to your daily posts and start expecting them.
Post Photos and Videos: In the eyes of the IG algorithm, videos and photos carry the same weight. This is good news because it will give you a chance to keep your feed fresh with videos and photos and not too much of the same content.
Reply to Dms: The algorithm prioritizes showing posts to people that you have relationships with. So, by replying to DMs, Instagram will see the relationship and show your posts in your followers feeds.
Reply to Comments: The same is true for comments. Replying to comments and commenting on other people’s posts will have Instagram putting you in the “friends” category of your followers and show them your posts first, therefore beating the algorithm!
Turn on Post Notifications: You may have gathered by now that engaging with your followers is just as important as engaging with people you follow. In order to do this most effectively, turn on post notifications so that you can keep up to date with those who you follow easily.
Follow the above steps and you will be on your way to beating the Instagram algorithm and seeing your engagement boost in no time. Boosted engagement and views on your posts means more exposure for your brand and in turn, more business! Remember, when it comes to Instagram, engaging and being engaged with are equally important!
